We’re not trying to make the most bikes, we’re trying to make the best bikes.

Why Quirk?

Quirk Cycles is an award winning steel and titanium custom bike company. All our frames are designed, produced and assembled in-house in our East London workshop.

We use innovative additive manufacturing processes, modern materials and 3D print technology to build by hand matchless bicycles.

Attention to detail partnered with advanced materials is key to what we do here at Quirk Cycles, seeing us constantly innovating design ideas and developing our unique signature style.

#QUIRKWORKS

Inspired by some of the most demanding endurance cycling events in the world, each of our bikes is built with a purpose and it’s that purpose which drives our design process.

We test our bikes in unforgiving events like the Silk Road Mountain Race and the Transcontinental Race, so that we can continue to develop and improve our designs based on real-world demands. Using these experiences we work closely with our customers and build the best bikes for the job. Whether that’s riding along forgotten gravel roads, climbing cols in the Italian Alps or racing ultra-endurance events across the world, we can always say Quirk Works.

Each frame is made by hand, one at a time.

It’s all about balance…

What makes the difference between a good bike and a great bike? The balance. When we sit down to design a Quirk bike, balance is at the forefront of our minds. But why is this so important?

Remember when you started learning to ride a bike? The anticipation and nerves, the butterflies in your stomach, the quest not only to find balance but to achieve it without needing to think about it? That life-changing moment when the ‘thinking’ just became the ‘doing’ is the feeling we aim to capture with every bike we make – the biggest factor in achieving that feeling is balance and to achieve balance we must start with fit.

It

starts with a fit

People talk about a bike fit like they’re getting measured up for a bespoke suit, but it is more than simply sizing.

Instead we should think of it as finding the perfect distribution of rider weight. A bike that does not distribute the rider across the bike in the right way may ride ok, but it won’t feel like it is an extension of the rider, it won’t feel a part of you. It fights with the rider rather than working with them.

Handling is not just about frame angles and trail; a bike that handles well is one that is balanced with the rider’s weight in the right place.

Award Winning

We work hard here at Quirk and the reward is seeing our frames perform for dedicated riders all over the world, and when that work is awarded, it's all the sweeter. In the past we have been lucky enough to pick up awards at Bespoked, the UK Handbuilt Bicycle Show. These include “Best Road Bike 2023”, “Best Finish 2023”, “Best Finish 2022”, “The Technical Excellence Award 2018”, "Outstanding New Framebuilder 2016", "Outstanding Design Award 2016", "The Brooks Choice 2016".
