Deb's OG Mamtor
When Deb’s first came to us she had a very clear brief. She had been eyeing up a custom build from us for a while and when she got in touch the email title just said ‘Bike Dream’. To make dreams come true is one thing but to imagine what bike dreams are made of we reckon we have a good idea.
It was refreshing to get to build a thoroughly modern road bike built on roadPLUS ideals. Rolling on 35mm of rubber, Deb’s Mamtor screams plushness - there’s going to be nary a road no matter how rough that she won’t glide over. Even with all that cushiness there’s no doubting that this is a killer road machine.
We specced the build with Zipp Firecrest 303’s because even with the wider tyres an aerodynamic rim still has a big impact on overall momentum. 303’s are a wonderfully capable set of wheels, fast on the road, light weight for great acceleration and strong enough for the roughest gravel out there.
When it came to the group we spent a good amount of time weighing up mechanical vs electronic and the advantages of 1x and 2x systems. In the end the versatility of a 2x system was seen as the way to go and what better way than with Shimano Ultegra Di2. The reliability of electronic shifting systems are too good to pass up on, and for this build works perfectly in the whole package.
Chris King bearings all round for lifetime durability and our signature paint, this time in Scout III. All-in-all a fantastic All-Road build.
