NIKOO'S FAT-TRACK

This was an interesting build from the off. The brief was to design a track frame for the road, something between an urban-assault and crit frame but with a twist - Nikoo wanted to run 42mm tyres! No mean feat.
I wanted to keep the classic lines of a track bike - straight + short seatstays and chainstays - so to squeeze the tyres into this shape some serious dimpling was performed on the inside of the chainstays keeping the outside lines flowing and a custom triple plate crown steel fork to accommodate the necessary clearance. The frame was built entirely with Columbus MAX tubes with a stout HSS tapered headtube for great stiffness with the tyres taking in all the road can throw at it. Finished in murdered-out black with the custom-cut stainless steel head badge, we chose to crown this beast with Halo hubs laced to H+SON Archetype rims all built in house. The rest of the kit being a mix of FSA SLK and TRP long reach brakes. What a beast!
