This one was a very special project for myself. Having for the past 4-5 years solely riding aluminium and carbon framesets and finding them always missing that little something, I found myself searching for the perfect ride. I needed something that was comfortable and responsive, could deal with various terrains and weather, and not be restricted in terms of tyre size, luggage, mudguards etc. and especially I wanted it to be fast!

The newly emerging gravel scene seemed to hold the answer. These were bikes that could deal with all but the most technical trails, but be equally at home on the road. Load them up for that long distance tour, or strip them back for fast riding. Not as aggressive as a CX bike with a lower BB for stability and great cornering, this was the ride for me.

Built around Columbus Spirit + Life tubes, with a HSS tapered headtube and Enve CX fork, the ride is light and responsive. Enve kit for the cockpit and SRAM Red for the drivetrain, only the best! Unsure whether to go full hydraulic on the braking system I decided the best route were TRP's HY/RD - it was a good choice. Clement tyres crown the build atop Novatec CXD disc wheelset. This ride is sublime.
